The Old Sweetness, and the New Sweetness
Posted July 9th, 2006 by Matt Fanady
Showing its age of three years, the orginal Pink Palace mast is eclipsed by the new sweetness of 1000 milliwatts of sectorized microwave goodness. The small white antenna on the old mast is a 3 dBi Cushcraft connected to a 100 mW Cisco. For years, this has been how many of the residents of Golden Hill have connected to the network. The smaller stubbier antenna on the far right is a 5.8 GHz omni antenna. This antenna will stay active and work in tandem with the new mega mast. This 5.8 GHz omni feeds many other nodes in Golden Hill from the DSL lines in the basement of the Pink Palace
