Why is it worth more?
A little thing called SLA (Service Level Agreement)
With your T1 you probably have 4 hour guaranteed repair.
You have 1. Mb/S guaranteed up and down
Yeah its slower that the fake-o "speedburst" on Cable Modem, and even DSL
is usually faster, but they have NO SLA and just try to run enterprise VOIP
over DSL or Cable (for more than a couple of phones)

Subject: [SCFN] why is T1 worth so much for 1.5 MBPS ?
T1 is 1.5 MBPS both up and down. Typical price for T1 is $250/month afaik.
DSL extreme charges me $30/month for 3 meg down, maybe 50 KBPS up.
Cox cable charges $42/month for 6 meg down, i cant remember its uplink
speed.
T1 bandwidth would seem - based on the above numbers -
to be slower than both dsl and cable in downlink speed, but faster as an
uplink.
Why is T1 worth so much more than cable isp or dsl?
Symmetric speed up and down? QOS ?
